Flourless Chocolate Cake

Great dessert for any time of year, but also perfect for Passover.

Ingredients

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate
8 oz butter (margarine if you want to make it parve)
8 oz sugar
4 eggs separated
Whipped topping

Directions

  1. Grease 9 inch cake pan or spring form put parchment paper greased on bottom
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  3. In double boiler melt chocolate and butter/margarine remove from heat
  4. Beat egg yolks with 4 oz of sugar
  5. Gradually add egg yolk mixture to chocolate mixture
  6. Beat egg whites while gradually adding remaining sugar, beat until peaks form
  7. Gently fold chocolate mixture into egg whites
  8. Put mixture into prepared pan
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. This cake will fall.
  10. Using a knife separate cake from paper. Serve warm or cold with whipped topping.
