We love anything lemony at JRT so this recipe made our day. Replace the butter with non-dairy margarine or olive oil for a parve version.

Ingredients

6 Halibut steaks (3/4 in cut, 1/2 lb. each)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon paprika
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
2 lemons, sliced
2 lemons, sliced thin for garnish
1 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Season steaks on both sides with salt, pepper and paprika.
  2. Place fish in a buttered (or oiled) baking dish and cover with minced garlic, and parsley. Sprinkle over with breadcrumbs.
  3. Top with lemon slices and cover with water (water level should be just below top of fish)
  4. Bake uncovered at 375 F for 25 minutes. Steaks should be firm and water should be mostly gone.
  5. Remove lemon slices and discard. Drizzle lightly with butter (or oil) and broil for 5 minutes or until the top is nicely browned.
  6. Serve garnished with fresh, thinly sliced lemon wheels.
