Baked Beef Brisket

Ingredients

4 lb boneless beef brisket, flat cut
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
3 large onions, sliced thick
1 cup hot water
2 tbl. corn starch
1 cup cold water

Directions

  1. Put the onions and brisket fat side up in an open roasting pan.
  2. Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic over brisket bake at 350 degrees (F) for 1 hour or until the onions turn light brown
  3. Add hot water and cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil. Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees and continue cooking 2 hours
  4. Remove brisket and onions to warm platter
  5. To make gravy: Combine corn starch with cold water and stir into cooking liquid until gravy thickens.
