Chopped Chicken Livers

This is a typical Jewish eastern European dish served on holidays and other festive occasions.

Ingredients

1 lb. chicken livers
2 onions, diced
3 hard boiled eggs
2 tbs. oil
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

  1. Wash livers and remove discolored spots and drain.
  2. Brown onions in a frying pan.
  3. Remove onions and saute livers in the remaining oil for 10 minutes.
  4. Grind or chop onions, livers and eggs, into smooth mixture.
  5. Add salt, pepper and taste for seasoning.
  6. Serve on lettuce as an appetizer.
